Man arrested after fatal hit-and-run in Erdington

Police have arrested a man after a cyclist died following a hit-and-run collision in Erdington yesterday (31 May).

Officers were to called to Chester Road, at the junction with Gravelly Lane, at around 5.30pm and a man in his 40s was sadly confirmed dead at the scene.

A 36-year-old man went to a police station later in the evening and was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He remains in custody for questioning.

A Mercedes car suspected of being involved in the collision has also been recovered.
