Worcestershire has its youngest county council chair ever, and he's made three big promises for his stint in office.

Cllr Kyle Daisley says any young people who want to get into politics should give it serious thought – with the average age of councillors in England around 60 years old.

But having already been a councillor for four years, 25-year-old Cllr Daisley says he wants to make sure young people in the county have a voice.

He wants to bring communities together, support for improving mental health and make sure young people have a voice to help shape the future of the county.

He said he believes young people should have an active voice within the county, and wants to work closely with them to take comments and concerns about the future on board.

"I strongly advise anybody who is thinking about getting involved in politics or wants to help other people to explore various options within the council because you really can make a difference.

"I hope, over the past couple of years, I've been able to make a difference, I certainly hope that I have.

"I'm a firm believer that politicians should deliver on what they say they're going to deliver on. That's something that I certainly do and hope other politicians do the same."

Conservative councillor Daisley, who represents Bromsgrove South, said he got into politics in 2019 because he wanted to help others.
