Young girl seriously hurt in hit and run in Birmingham
Police are appealing to anyone who saw what happened.
A 13-year-old girl was seriously hurt in a hit and run in Birmingham at the weekend.
It happened on Holly Lane in Erdington just before 17:30 on Saturday (27 May). She was taken to hospital where remains in a critical condition.
She was struck by a black Volkswagen Golf convertible .
A 47-year-old man was yesterday arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
West Midlands Police are still trying to trace the car, which they believe sustained significant damage to its windscreen and passenger side during the collision.
They said they are keen to hear from anyone who has information about the collision - or has seen a convertible with noticeable damage over the last few days.
