All eyes were on Sutton Coldfield today as Sarina Wiegman announced the England team for this summer's World Cup.

The announcement took place at Boldmere St Michaels to showcase the important role grassroot clubs play in the development of women’s football.

Dave Travers and his daughter were instrumental in setting up the girl’s football programme at the club. They started the Wildcat programme in 2016.

Dave says: "We get the girls started, without grassroot clubs like ourselves around the country, girls wouldn't have anywhere to start playing.

"The Regional Talent Clubs are great but they are only taking girls in after we've shown they how to play, how to start and how to keep them engaged.

"Without clubs like ourselves, we wouldn't have those top teams."

And Sarina interacted with the children who were attending the half-term holiday camp at the club. They told Free Radio they felt inspired to meet the Lioness Manager.

And Aston Villa players Rachel Daly, Hannah Hampton and Jordan Nobbs have been selected for the tournament in July, as well as Warwick's very own Jess Carter.

Their first match is against Haiti in Brisbane on July 22.
