Woman seriously injured in Droitwich crash
Multiple vehicles were involved in the collision on the A38 on Tuesday (02 August) morning
A cyclist was seriously injured as a result of a collision in Droitwich on Tuesday morning (2 August) and police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
The collision happened at about 11.20am on the A38 Worcester Road where the cyclist. a 67-year-old woman, was in convoy with three other cyclists travelling south towards Martin Hussingtree.
As they approached traffic lights a car, which was travelling in the same direction, moved over to give them space but as it did so it was involved in a collision involving two other cars and a lorry.
One of the vehicles spun out of control and the collision with the cyclist occurred.
She was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham with serous head injuries and is currently in intensive care following surgery.
No-one else was injured.
The vehicles involved were a Mazda MX5, a Mercedes lorry, a Hyundai 130 and a Mercedes SUV.
Police want to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or saw any of the vehicles, and the manner in which they were being driven, before it happened.
