Woman attacked in Walsall after being grabbed from behind by man

It happened on Scarborough Road in the early hours of Wednesday (29 Feb).

Police are appealing for witnesses after a young woman was attacked by a man in Walsall around 1am on Wednesday morning (28 Feb).

The woman in her 20s was grabbed from behind by a man and punched in the face. She managed to break free and run to a nearby home for help.

Police patrols have been increased in the area.

Detective Inspector Richard Marsh, from the local CID, said: “This was a nasty incident and we are keen to find the person responsible for carrying out this assault. I would urge anyone with any information to please come forward.”

Officers are trawling through CCTV and making door-to-door enquiries.
