The West Midlands PCC is telling us urgent action will be taken to address issues around women's safety across the region.

Simon Foster is meeting with the Chief Constable Dave Thompson today (Monday), with the use of plain clothed officers and vetting processes in the agenda.

It follows the murder of Sarah Everard by a serving officer in London earlier this year.

Last week, the Home Secretary announced a public inquiry, which is being set up to look into what happened.

It's as extra officers went on patrol around Sutton Coldfield at the weekend.

It follows the rape of a woman in Princess Alice Park earlier this month.

Local residents were handed leaflets, and anyone with information on what happened is being urged to come forward.
