Walsall man arrested on suspicion of terror offences

Detectives from Counter Terrorism Policing West Midlands CTU have arrested a 19-year-old Walsall man in connection with right wing terrorism offences.

The man was arrested last night on Monday night in the Winsford area of Cheshire and transported to the West Midlands to be interviewed.

He was detained on suspicion of possessing a document likely to be of use to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism, contrary to S58 of Terrorism Act 2000.

The arrest was intelligence led and there was no immediate threat to the safety of the public.
