Tree falls on bungalow in Longbridge

It's as the region is experiencing strong winds from Storm Pia.

Crews from West Midlands Fire Service were called out to Longbridge this morning, as a tree had fallen on a bungalow.

It happened shortly after 7:20am at The Roundabout.

Fire engines from Northfield, Kings Norton, Wednesbury, Bournbrook and Woodgate Valley attended.

Firefighters including technical rescue teams have been removing large branches from the road.

A woman in her seventies is being treated by paramedics for shock.

The Roundabout is currently inaccessible from the Bristol Road, which remains open.

West Midlands Police are also in attendance.

A structural engineer has assessed the property and deemed the damage as superficial.

The house remains safe for the occupier to remain inside.

West Midlands Fire Service have scaled down resources at this incident to one crew, who are assisting other agencies.
