Officers were called to the junction of Rotherham Road and Holbrook Lane shortly before 4pm yesterday (24 April) after the boy was hit on the head with a hammer.

The Force attended and the boy was taken to hospital with head injuries, though they are not considered to be life-threatening.

On the police website, they say arrests took place following enquiries in the neighbourhood and are in custody.

West Midlands Police say they are aware the incident may be concerning to the community, but would like to reassure everyone that this is an isolated incident.
