Teenager arrested over Ladywood shooting

Police have arrested a teenager as they continue to investigate a shooting that has left a teenage boy in a critical condition.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested today (7 November) on suspicion of attempted murder from an address in Birmingham.

Specialist officers are supporting the family of the 16-year-old boy, who remains in hospital after the shooting which happened at around 12.30pm on Lighthorne Avenue on Sunday 5 November.

Police say they continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident and although they've made an arrest, they are still in the early stages of their investigation and will take action against anyone who was involved.

They are trawling CCTV and neighbourhood officers are in the area to offer reassurance and to be a point of contact for anybody with concerns.
