An 18-year-old man has been arrested after gunshots were fired in Wednesbury earlier this week.

He remains in police custody.

It's understood shots were fired from a VW Golf that was speeding down Woden Road East at around 4:20pm on Tuesday (16 Jan).

The car then crashed with a number of other vehicles as the driver tried to flee, before being abandoned off Crankhall Lane a short time later.

West Midlands Police said on their website: "The incident has understandably caused concern within the area, and we've stepped up reassurance patrols as we work to identify who was involved.

"Our enquiries are continuing and we're still appealing for anyone with information, or dashcam footage, to contact us.

"You can do this via Live Chat on our website, or by calling 101, quoting log 3123 of 16/01/24."
