Officers from Redditch Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) executed a warrant to seize suspected dangerous dogs at an address in Greenlands this morning (Tuesday 12 December).

Two female adult Cane Corso dogs and seven puppies were seized using an Emergency Section 5 Dog Warrant following an attack on a 34-year-old woman within Auxerre House on Thursday 7 December. During the attack the woman was bitten on the arm.

SNT officers were supported by specialist officers, dog handlers and dog liaison officers and the dogs taken away as part of the investigation into the attack.

The puppies were taken so they could stay with their mother, who is one of the suspected dangerous dogs.

A 25-year-old man from Redditch was later interviewed on suspicion of being the owner of a dog that is dangerously out of control under Section 3 of the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 as part of the investigation. No arrests have been made but enquiries are ongoing.

Police Sergeant Craig Osborne of Redditch SNT said: “We take any incidents of dog attacks very seriously and it is fortunate on this occasion the victim was not more seriously injured as the dogs were loose in a hallway of the building when she was bitten."
