There's a call for more women to become football coaches for grassroots clubs, to improve support for women in football.

Stourbridge FC says, there aren't enough female coaches in the industry.

Jodie Perkins has been with the club as a player from the age of 16 but is now a coach for the women's team.

She's told us, women need better education and support from the FA to encourage them into the role.

She added, that female coaches aren't offered the same support network as men but could better help players if there were more opportunities.

Jodie adds the FA could add more things to help such as practical workshops to build confidence in women who might want to become coaches.

"I completely agree with Emma Hayes' statement, that it's a massive issue with regards to players' mental health and wellbeing."

It's after Chelsea Women's FC manager Emma Hayes said, It's "massive issue" having a limited number of female coaches in English football.

Jodie continued, "Female coaches will look at things from an entirely different perspective. They'll be able to relate to female players on a level that most male ones can't.

"So, I think having more female coaches around grassroots levels will benefit players' welfare.

"And I think having that female role model around will hopefully inspire the next generation of female coaches."
