A Polish man was attacked with a golf club by teenagers in front of his young son in a racially aggravated attack, police said.

The man was hit several times and left with cuts and bruises to his arm, back and ribs following the attack at Stirchley skate park, in Castlecroft, Telford, Shropshire.

The incident, which happened at about 4.30pm on Tuesday, took place in front of the victim's 10-year-old son, who was subjected to racially aggravated intentional harassment, West Mercia Police (WMP) said on Wednesday.

The force is now looking for the teenagers involved, believed to be aged about 16, in what it said was a "racially aggravated incident of grievous bodily harm".

Pc Sian Evans, of WMP, said: "This was a nasty, racially aggravated attack and we are asking for any witnesses to the assault to come forward, particularly anyone with CCTV or phone video of what happened.

"There were a lot of children on the skate park and it is believed that these incidents may have been video-captured by them."

One of the teenagers involved is described as wearing a black, ripped top; grey joggers; carrying a red Adidas man bag and wearing white Air Jordan trainers.

Another one wore a grey tracksuit and black body-warmer. Both ran off after the attack.

Anyone with information should contact the force online.
