Police searching for armed man who burgled house in Nuneaton

It happened just before 1am this morning (Saturday).

Warwickshire Police are appealing for information after an aggravated burglary in Nuneaton.

Officers were called at 12.54am today (31 December) to a report that a man armed with a large blade had broken into a house in Hill Street and threatened the occupant.

The offender slapped the victim before searching the house and leaving with jewellery, cash and electrical equipment.

An investigation is underway and enquires are ongoing to identify the offender and detectives are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Detective Sergeant Suzanne Charlton from Nuneaton CID said: “This must have been a terrifying ordeal for the victim who fortunately wasn’t badly hurt. The offender was armed and clearly prepared to use violence.

“I would appeal for to anyone who saw anything suspicious or has dash cam or CCTV footage which might assist to come forward.”
