Murder investigation launched after fatal stabbing in Birmingham

Detectives have launched an investigation after a man was fatally stabbed in Birmingham earlier this morning (Tuesday 2 March).

Police were called to reports of a stabbing in Perry Villa Drive at around 3.50am. A man was found with stab injuries to the neck.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim has not been formally identified at this early stage.

A 34-year-old man was arrested at the scene and remains in police custody on suspicion of murder.

Perry Villa Drive has been sealed off in order to preserve any potentially crucial evidence.

Officers are currently conducting house to house and CCTV enquiries.
