Motorcyclist dies in Coventry collision

A man has died, after a road traffic collision involving a motorbike and a car in Coventry overnight.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called at 11.27pm (Wednesday) by an off-duty paramedic reporting a serious collision near St Thomas Church on Longford Road, Coventry.

A paramedic officer, two ambulances and a critical care car with a team of medics on board from The Air Ambulance Service attended the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said:

“Crews arrived to find a motorcyclist, a man, in a critical condition following a collision with a car being cared for by an off-duty paramedic and bystanders.

“The team of ambulance staff worked together to provide advanced life support to the man on scene. Sadly, despite the best efforts of everyone, nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed deceased a short time later.”
