Man seriously injured after Coventry assault

Emergency services were called in the early hours of this morning

A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following an assault in Coventry.

Emergency services were called to Stoney Stanton Road in the early hours of this morning where a man received treatment, before being transported via ambulance.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of a patient who had been assaulted on Stoney Stanton Road at 5.35am. One ambulance, a paramedic officer and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance Critical care Car attended the scene.

"On arrival we found one male patient who received emergency treatment for serious injuries. He was then transported to hospital with the doctor from the Critical Care Car travelling in the ambulance to help continue treatment whilst en-route."
