Man stabbed in Worcester park
Police were called yesterday (Monday 5 July) at around 6.54pm to a disturbance at Westbury Pocket Park, Westbury Street in Worcester.
On arrival, police found an injured 33-year-old man. He was taken to hospital and has since been discharged.
A 45-year-old man, from London, was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm and remains in police custody.
Inspector Fergus Green from the Worcester Safer Neighbourhood team said: "Luckily, in this instance, the injured man has been treated at hospital for stab wounds and has been treated for non-fatal injuries.
“Understandably our community will be distressed by this incident. We believe this to be isolated and we would invite anyone with concerns to speak with members of our Safer Neighbourhood and local policing patrols who will have an increased presence within the area over the coming days.”
“We have also launched a new community messaging service that delivers messages straight to your inbox about the key local goings-on and it also allows you to raise concerns about crime in their area, ensuring they can feel safe where you live, work and socialise and I would recommend joining this.”
