A multi-car crash on the M5 this morning has left four people with serious injuries.

Three cars were involved where it happened on the northbound carriageway between junctions three and four near Rubery.

West Mercia Police said: "A man from one of the vehicles involved has been taken to hospital with life-changing injuries."

Emergency services were called just after midnight this morning (9 March).

We understand the stretch of motorway will be closed for most of the morning.

Traffic is being diverted via the exit and entry slip roads.

West Mercia Police are now investigating and are asking for anyone who saw what happened to get in touch.
