Man in critical condition after stabbing in Redditch

West Mercia Police have launched an attempted murder investigation.

A man was rushed to hospital just after midnight yesterday after being stabbed multiple times. It happened shortly after he left the Oast House pub in Redditch.

The 26-year-old is in a critical condition in hospital.

Detectives from West Mercia Police said they are not sure where the attack took place, but know he left the car park in a white Audi Q3 around 11:55pm.

Shortly after 12.35am yesterday morning (12 March), the victim, arrived at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Redditch with multiple stab wounds.

His injuries were assessed as being life-threatening and he was later transferred to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham by ambulance, where he remains in a critical condition.

Detective Chief Inspector Gareth Lougher, said: “CCTV shows people in the car park at around the same time as the victim and we are really keen to speak to them as they could be vital witnesses.

“We’re particularly keen to identify a group of around 8-10 men who were in the car park at the time the victim left.

“If you are one of these people, or were in the pub last night and have any information which may help our investigation, I’d ask you to please get in touch as soon as possible.

“Lastly, I know that incidents like this can be alarming, but I’d like to reassure you that we are working hard to understand what happened and that we don’t believe there is any risk to the wider community.”
