Man dies in Walsall flat fire

Police are investigating after a man was found dead in a flat fire in Walsall this morning (20 Nov).

Emergency services were called just after 4am to Wednesbury Road, where a man in his 30s was confirmed dead at the scene.

A cordon remains in place with a road closure while forensic examinations take place to establish the cause of the fire and how the man died.

Officers are conducting house-to-house enquiries and anyone with information is asked to contact West Midlands Police via live chat on the website or by calling 101 quoting log 371 of 20/11.
