Man charged with firearm and drugs offences in Great Barr

The man's car was stopped by officers on Tuesday.

A man from Great Barr's been charged with firearm and drugs offences after West Midlands Police officers stopped a vehicle earlier this week.

A car was stopped on Walsall Road on Tuesday - an imitation firearm was found along with cash, mobile phones and cannabis.

Joshua Barrett, aged 24, has been charged with possessing an imitation firearm, possessing class B drugs with intent to supply, using criminal property and driving without insurance or a licence.

He appeared at Birmingham Magistrates Court on 4 October and was remanded in custody to appear at Birmingham Crown Court on 1 November.

The charge is part of West Midlands Police's Operation Target - which is a crackdown on serious crime across the county.
