A man has been charged with three counts of being in charge of a dog that was dangerously out of control in a public place.

It follows an incident in Bordesley Green last September.

The 62-year-old man was postal charged and is due to appear before Birmingham Magistrates court on 22 February.

The dog remains in secure kennels.

West Midlands Police is reminding members of the public that XL Bully legislation comes into effect tomorrow (1 Feb). From this date, owners will need to have an exemption certificate. Without one, owners could face conviction, fines, and/or imprisonment.
