Man charged over Bartley Green shooting

It happened at the weekend on Bottetourt Road

Police have charged a man in connection with a shooting in Bartley Green last weekend.

An investigation has been launched after a man was shot in Bottetourt Road at just before 1.30pm on Saturday (3 February). Thankfully his injuries were not life-threatening.

Police have arrested a 21-year-old yesterday and he has now been charged with wounding, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and attempted robbery.

Michael Jones from Weoley Castle is due to appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court today (6 February).

Police enquiries into the shooting continue and officers are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and has dash cam footage.

Police are particularly interested in any footage from Bottetourt Road and Castle Square between 1-1.30pm.
