Man in court charged with murder after shooting in Leamington

A 19-year-old man has been charged with murder, after the shooting of Ben Daly in Leamington in August.

Liviu Sandor, of Romford in Essex, was arrested by Essex officers who were acting on behalf of Warwickshire Police.

He was brought to custody in Warwickshire and in the early hours of this morning (2 October) he was charged with murder.

Officers and detectives launched a murder investigation following the shooting of 30-year-old Ben Daly .

He died after being found with a gunshot wound in Clemens Street, Leamington Spa, on Thursday 10 August.

A total of nine people have been detained in relation to the incident.

Senior investigating officer, Detective Chief Inspector Teresa McKenna said: "Ben’s tragic death has left the community shocked. This was an isolated incident, and we are doing everything in our power to bring those responsible to justice."

Mr Sandor has appeared before Coventry Magistrates and will be back in court on Wednesday.
