Man charged after police officer slashed with knife in Birmingham

A man has been charged with assaulting two police officers after an incident in Springfield, Birmingham.

Tariq Zeb, 52, has been charged with one count of grievous bodily harm and one count of assault causing actual bodily harm.

Zeb was charged following an incident at an address in Springfield on 19 Novemer in which two officers were assaulted.

One officer received a slash wound to his face caused by a knife and another officer was punched.

Both were taken to hospital, but were discharged following treatment.

Zeb was remanded in custody to appear before magistrates in Birmingham today (21 November).
