Police have charged a man after recovering two shotguns, ammunition, and a machete in Coventry.

Officers found the weapons near an abandoned car - which had earlier failed to stop for them - in Austin Drive on Saturday night (23 December).

Junior Dube, 21, from Coventry, was arrested shortly afterwards and has since been charged with possession of shotguns, having a knife and ammunition.

He was remanded to appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court on Tuesday (26 December).

It comes as West Midlands Police ran Operation Target earlier this year in a defiant stand against serious crime.
