Man arrested on suspicion of murder in Herefordshire village

He's been detained under the mental health act.

A man's been arrested on suspicion of murder, after a woman was found dead in a Herefordshire village.

Police were called to a house in Pembridge on Friday lunchtime.

They'd received a call notifying them that a woman was in cardiac arrest at her home, and was believed to be the victim of an assault.

Officers found her with a serious head injury, and she'd sadly died at the scene.

The 57 year-old man has been arrested of suspicion of murder. He's also been detained under the mental health act.

Detective Chief Inspector Dean Jones said:

“We believe this is an isolated incident and our thoughts are with the family at this very sad time."
