Man arrested following firearms incident in Worcestershire

Police were called to Malvern Link train station in the early hours of this morning.

A man's been arrested after a gun was pulled on police at Malvern Link train station.

West Mercia Police were called to the station at around 4.30am this morning (21 February) with a concern for the welfare of a man.

When officers attended, the man produced a firearm.

The 32-year-old's been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent and remains in police custody.

Sergeant Jason Maiden from Malvern Safer Neighbourhood Team said: “I appreciate this will be alarming to the local community, but I can assure you it is an isolated incident and there is no wider risk to the public”.
