Officers were flagged down by the delivery man at around 7.45am after he'd been threatened and robbed of his Ford Galaxy in Parkhill Drive.

The man demanded the driver, in his 40s, hand over the keys to the Galaxy and then he drove off in the stolen vehicle.

But it was soon spotted by officers on patrol in Hersall Lane.

They began a pursuit which ended when the Galaxy was brought to a stop, with the help of traffic officers, in Radford Road just after 8am.

Officers arrested one man on suspicion of robbery, dangerous driving, failing to stop and drink-driving.

A van which was waiting in traffic in Radford Road, suffered minor damage as the Galaxy came to a halt.

The 26-year-old man remains in police custody this afternoon for questioning.

Thankfully the delivery driver wasn’t injured in the robbery and our investigations are ongoing.
