Junior doctors out in full force at Birmingham Rally
Hundreds gathered in the city centre
Junior doctors from across the Midlands gathered at a rally in Birmingham today for the final day of strike action.
Staff across the country walked out on Tuesday for four days of strikes, in a row over pay, with the BMA union asking for a 35% pay rise.
Doctors at the rally on Edgbaston Street near the Bullring shopping centre held signs calling for change and chanted for more pay.
One Junior doctor travelled all the way from Nottingham to attend the rally: "There are strength in numbers and we need to be heard," she said.
Another doctor, Tom, who works at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, said: "It's great to see us all together for a common purpose, to help the NHS get back to where it used to be and improve things for the future.
"It's to make our voices heard and to show the strength of our feelings and hopefully bring the Government to the negotiation table," he said.
The government says the BMA must drop demands of a 35 percent pay rise before talks can begin.
