Investigation launched after stabbing near Coventry shop

One arrest man as a man's treated in hospital

Police are investigating after a 29-year-old man was stabbed in Coventry yesterday evening (25 February).

He was attacked on New Union Street at around 7pm and ran into a nearby shop for help.

The man was taken to hospital with multiple stab injuries.

At present his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of wounding, assault and criminal damage.

The scene is currently cordoned off to help detectives determine the circumstances around this attack.

CCTV is being reviewed and neighbourhood officers are out conducting reassurance patrols in the area.
