Police have charged a man with attempted murder after a man was hit by a car in Birmingham, leaving him fighting for his life in hospital.

Shanardo Whittaker, from Dudley, was arrested by officers yesterday morning from his home address.

He’s suspected of driving a car that knocked down a 33-year-old man in Hamstead Road, Handsworth at around 6am on Sunday morning (31 Oct).

The victim remains in a critical condition in hospital.
