A fundraiser set up in memory of four teenagers from Shrewsbury who died in a car crash in Wales has almost reached a staggering £20,000.

Jevon Hirst, Harvey Owen, Wilf Fitchett, and Hugo Morris were reported missing last week when they failed to return from a camping trip to Snowdonia.

They were found in an overturned car on Tuesday in Gwynedd, leading to a police investigation to learn what led to the crash.

One person who donated on the JustGiving page said: "People all feel so helpless at times like this and desperately want to do something to express their collective grief."

Another said: "Thinking of all the families dealing with their unbearable loss."

Another post said: "Lots of good memories are still living on, and always will do. Gone but not forgotten."

The fundraising page states the money will be split between each family equally to help support them during this time.

The family of one of the boys, Harvey Owen, released a tribute, describing him as "the most previous soul."

Harvey's mother said: “There are absolutely no words to describe the pain we are feeling at the loss of the most precious soul and no words to really explain how much of a special person Harvey was, but I will try my best.

“I know it sounds like a cliche, but Harvey was a unique and special person who touched so many people along the way."
