Feedo Needo, a charity and food bank is hosting a series of Christmas events across its branches in London, Manchester, Bradford and Birmingham.

The event is happening in Birmingham today from 12- 4pm at the Arabica Café in Digbeth.

The events aim to spread festive cheer, bring communities together and give everyone the opportunity to enjoy Christmas festivities.

The events will feature games, music, free haircuts and manicures as well as lots more.

So far, FareShare, Aldi and Lidl have all agreed to donate food items for service users to enjoy during the events and will also be providing essential items for each visitor to take home.

Gracefilled Okeke, Project Coordinator from the Birmingham branch, said: “We know this has been another tough year for many people and our service users have expressed that they don’t have any Christmas plans and won’t be able to afford a Christmas dinner.

“We believe the festive season is all about bringing people together and spreading joy and we are in a fortunate position where we can give back and make a difference to those who are struggling. Here at Feedo Needo, we want people to know that our doors are open for everyone to enjoy hot drinks, food, music, and games over the holiday period.”

The charity has said it expects this could be one of their busiest Christmas’ so far, with more people turning to food banks following the cost of living being at a 41-year high.

This Winter, Feedo Needo is calling out for tinned fruit and food items, dried goods, warm clothing and shoes.

The events are happening in London and Birmingham on the 16th December and in Bradford on the 22nd December.
