Family of murdered Wolverhampton teenager heading to Westminster over knife crime

A family in Wolverhampton who lost their son in a stabbing attack are going to Parliament this week to try and toughen the online sales of knives.

Ronan Kanda, 16, was stabbed to death outside his house on Mount Road, Lanesfield, last year.

It was found out later as a case of mistaken identity and that his killers had bought blades online that were used.

Now the family, with the support of Pat McFadden are heading to Westminster to take their knife crime campaign.

They're hoping to urge more politicians to take action and support them.

Ronan's dad, Chander, said: "These were lethal weapons that they had. They were ninja swords, absolutely huge.

"I'm thinking why are they ordering machetes, swords, all types of weapons.

"He was keeping an arsenal."

Ronan's sister, Nikita, has also spoken about the sale of online knives. She said: "We need to do more to stop knife crime.

"Do you know how easy it is to acquire a weapon. You just go online and buy a machete, it's too easy.

"I want to call out the MPs and the Prime Minister that we need to so more to make sure another innocent life isn't taken from knife crime."

Ministers did unveil plans to toughen knife law in April.
