We can reveal a sawn off shotgun has been found in a children's park in Birmingham.

Police discovered it as part of a weapons sweep at Malborough House Community Park in Stechford.

It's a short distance away from a local primary school.

We were on the sweep with the team from Project Guardian when the discovery was made, around five minutes after it started.

Project Guardian focuses on tackling youth violence and knife crime.

Officers from the team told us the firearm will be taken away to be forensically examined, and to see if it’s connected to any existing crimes.
