Police given more time to question Erdington murder suspect

West Midlands Police have been granted extra time to question a man on suspicion of murder in Erdington.

A 25-year-old man has been detained following the discovery of a body in Baldmoor Lake Road on Tuesday morning (6 February).

A man aged 65 was found dead in a property at just after 9am.

Officers were granted a magistrates court extension today (9 February) which allows them to question the suspect on suspicion of both murder and fraud for up to 36 hours longer.

A 51-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of fraud has been bailed with conditions while enquiries continue.

A post mortem revealed the injured man died as a result of neck injuries.
