Dudley teen to appear in court charged with attempted murder

It follows a stabbing in the town last weekend

A 17-year-old boy from Dudley will appear before Wolverhampton Magistrates' Court today (Friday 4 February) charged with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon.

The boy - who can't be named for legal reasons - is accused of stabbing another 17-year-old boy on Malthouse Drive, Dudley at around 7.45pm on Sunday (30 January). The boy remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital.

The suspect was arrested on the evening of Wednesday 2 February.

Speaking at the time, Chief Superintendent Kim Madill, head of Dudley Police, said: “This was a violent attack and our thoughts go out to the victim and his family."
