Death of 12-year-old at Telford school not treated as suspicious

A 12-year-old boy has died after collapsing at Langley School on Friday (16 June).

West Mercia Police said it is not being treated as suspicious.

Officers responded to calls around 14:40, but said they are not investigating.

One person on Facebook commented: "This is absolutely heart-breaking. Thinking of the family at this sad time."

Another posted: "Thoughts are with the family of the young boy so sad god bless him xx"

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of a child who had collapsed at Langley School in Dawley, Telford.

"Crews took over and provided advanced care to the child before he was taken on blue lights to Princess Royal Hospital. Sadly, shortly after arrival at hospital it became apparent nothing could be done to save the child despite everyone's best efforts and he was confirmed deceased."
