A candle-lit vigil has been held for Ian Price, who was killed in a dog attack in Stonnall, Staffordshire.

The 52-year-old died in hospital after being mauled by two dogs, believed to be American XL Bullies, in Main Street on 14 September.

On Saturday night, dozens of people gathered at the village playing fields to pay their respects to Mr Price.

Reverend Lynn McKeon welcomed those who gathered, and also invited them to join in a prayer for the family.

In a short speech, she said: "We are all still hurting, and this vigil is a way for us all to come together and process something which happened that was horrific.

"The church will be here to help people process this awful event over the days, weeks and months to come."

Organised by close friends of Mr Price, Rob Ellwood and Dave Turner, the vigil concluded with a prayer for his wife and two children.

The community were then invited to sign a book of condolence at the Royal Oak pub.
