Bailey Atkinson: funeral to be held for Walsall stab victim
20-year-old Bailey Atkinson was stabbed to death in January.
The funeral will be held today (March 24) for Bailey Atkinson, who was stabbed to death in Walsall.
The 20-year-old from Bloxwich died after being attacked in the town centre on January 28.
The service is being held in his hometown, Coventry. Hundreds of people are expected to gather at Canley crematorium, before a burial in Canley Gardens.
Mourners have been asked to wear black and white, with baby blue accents - Bailey's favourite colour.
Speaking of her son, mum Kerry said: "Bailey was a kind-hearted young man. He was the light of everybody's life.
"You always smiled when he was around because he used to make you laugh. He was so funny. Our hearts are broken that he's gone."
Kerry, Bailey's siblings and his girlfriend have all written tributes to him which will be read out at the service.
Kerry added: "There will also be motorbikes attending as Bailey loved riding motorbikes. That was his passion, he loved going out on a Sunday riding his bike."
A post-mortem examination revealed Bailey died from multiple stab wounds after he was attacked in Walsall High Street in the early hours on January 28.
Nine teenagers have been charged with Bailey's murder.
