Police are appealing for witnesses after a sexual assault in Redditch on Tuesday (19 September).

A man thought to be in his 40s approached a 14-year-old girl between 9pm and 10pm in Arrow Valley Park in the underpass beneath the Warwick Highway near to the basketball courts.

He then sexually assaulted her before she managed to struggle free and run away.

The attacker is described as a white man in his 40s, bald with a stubble beard and moustache. He was wearing a dark blue tracksuit, was of medium build and had a local accent.

Detective Sergeant Chris Dee of North Worcestershire Reactive CID said: “We understand how concerning this incident is for the local community and I would like to offer my assurances an investigation is underway to identify and apprehend the man.

“We’re asking for the public’s help and would like to hear from anyone who can provide any information regarding this assault.

“If you were in or around Arrow Valley Park on Tuesday evening, please get in contact with us. Any motorists who were nearby at the time with dash cam footage may be able to help too.

“Specially trained officers have been providing support to the victim and her family and the public will see an increased police presence in the Arrow Valley Park area as we seek to provide reassurance.”
