West Mercia Police have confirmed a person has died after being in a crash on the M5 in Worcester this morning (15 March).

They were called to junction 6, where they closed the road in both directions.

National Highways said there was a motorbike fire in lane three.

Police are leading an investigation into what happened.

The southbound carriageway has since reopened.

The northbound carriageway will remain partially shut this afternoon - with lanes one and two closed. But, National Highways say lane three is now open again following earlier clean-up works.

The delay is now around an hour - with 7 miles of traffic.

We will bring more on this as we get it.
