Nearly three quarters of City of Culture employees come from Coventry or the West Midlands, a report has revealed.

With Coventry passing the six-month mark as City of Culture, we've been examining the positive impacts that it's had on the area.

Jonothan Neelands, professor of creative education from the University of Warwick, says the high number of local people working for the City of Culture is great for the community.

He helped write the latest Coventry City of Culture performance, measurement and evaluation report, and says having local employees has a positive impact:

"The trust now employees over 100 people, so for the vast majority of those to be from Coventry, Warwickshire, or the West Midlands is extraordinary.

"It also means they’re committed to the place, they’re committed to the people, they know the people.

"In many cases, when they go out into some of our most diverse neighbourhoods, they look like the people who live in those neighbourhoods and understand those neighbourhoods.”

On Coventry's sixth-month mark as City of Culture, we took an in-depth look back at everything that's gone on and what Coventry residents can continue to look forward to.
