2 people dead after early morning collisions in Birmingham

They happened on Bristol Road and in Acocks Green.

Two people have died following seperate collisions in Birmingham this morning (1 December).

The first happened at around 12:15am, on Warwick Road, Acocks Green, when a car hit a wall.

The passenger died at the scene.

The driver of the car has been taken to hospital in a critical condition.

Warwick Road at the junction with Morrisons supermarket is likely to remain closed for most of the day while a forensic examination takes place.

Around 15 minutes later a car hit a tree on, Bristol Road, near the junction with Eastern Road, just before 12.30am

The driver, aged 20, was found in a critical condition but passed away on the way to hospital.

Two passengers also sustained serious injuries and are currently at hospital.

The road heading out of Birmingham is currently closed and is expected to be shut until midday.

Police are asking anyone either saw what happened or have dashcam footage of either incident, to get in touch with them.
