The body of a man has been discovered at a play area in Worcestershire.

West Mercia Police say part of Abbey Park in Evesham remains closed after the discovery of a man in his 30s just before 6.30 this morning.

A cordon is in place whilst investigations continue.

His death is being treated as unexplained with officers also saying its an isolated incident.

Chief Inspector Dave Troth, said: “I understand that the police presence in Abbey Park this morning will be concerning to the local community, especially with a number of events planned in the park today.

“I’d like to reassure you that this is an isolated incident and there is no risk to the wider public.

“We would ask that you avoid the area for now to allow our officers to carry out their work. Thank you for your patience.”
