A 38-year-old man has been sentenced for drugs supply offences in Warwick.

Imlah Johnson of Yeats Drive, Warwick, appeared at Warwick Crown Court on Monday 11th October.

In February 2018, Johnson’s vehicle was stopped by officers on Stratford Road in Warwick. A small amount of cannabis and cocaine, along with a number of mobile phones were found in the car.

Subsequent investigations of the mobile phones subsequently found numerous messages which showed Johnson was involved in the supply of class A and B controlled drugs.

Johnson was further arrested on 8th March 2018, where further controlled drugs were seized. He was subsequently charged with being concerned in the supply of cocaine, heroin and cannabis on 8th August 2019.

The trial was severely delayed due to the pandemic. Following a 2 week trial, Johnson was found guilty of being concerned in the supply of cocaine, heroin and cannabis. On 11th October, he was sentenced to three-and-a-half years imprisonment.

Following the sentencing, investigating officer Det Con Scott Fisher from Warwickshire Police said: “This case highlights the efforts that are ongoing to target the supply of class A drugs in Warwickshire. It serves as a warning to drug dealers that if you involve yourself in a business that causes so much misery, you will be brought to justice.”
